bgi的 emerged from the American Civil Rights Movement and was established by the California legislature on September 4th, 1969. In accordance with Senate Bill 164, bgi的 is a state-wide initiative that guarantees to offer low-income and historically underserved students services that are "over, above, and in addition to" the college's standard 项目.

通过了ering academic help, counseling, financial aid, and other supportive services to students while they are on their educational journey at 易世博, we are here to ensure that our students thrive in college.

 

To qualify for bgi的, you must meet the requirements below: 

  • Be a California resident or meet the AB540 California Non-Resident Tuition Exemption.
  • Have a current financial aid application on file.
  • Qualify for the California College Promise Grant under methods A or B (Income Maximum for 2024-2025)
  • Be enrolled in 12 units or more (exceptions may apply for eligible 需求方 学生).
  • Have completed less than 70 degree applicable units.
  • 满足 一个 of the following criteria:
    • 1st generation college student
    • 现任或前任 培养青年
    • English is or was not the primary language spoken in your home
    • Have not graduated from high school or obtained the GED
    • Graduated from high school with a GPA below 2.50在4上.0规模
    • Is or was previously enrolled in remedial education or basic skills

1st Tier Priority 登记

First-tier priority registration is given to bgi的 students, who can register 1 day ahead of other priority groups and the general student body. 了解更多信息 about registration, including priority registration dates, please view the 登记 网页.

bgi的 students are assigned to a dedicated bgi的顾问 based on the last two digits of their student ID number. bgi的顾问s help students to develop an educational plan that lists the courses they must take to reach their educational objectives. Our counselors are available to offer support with personal difficulties that may prevent students from succeeding in school as well as referrals to campus and community services that students may need.

书信贷

Our program offers 书信贷s to qualified students each semester to help cover 教科书的成本. 学生 may utilize the book credit to help pay for textbooks, USB drives, thesauruses, and dictionaries in the 易世博 bookstore. 学生 必须坚持 图书信用政策 to maintain eligibility. 

图书馆

Through our office's 图书馆, our students are able to check out free textbooks, Chromebooks, and calculators. Every semester, items from the lending library are made available to our students on a first-come, first-served basis. Other 支持ive Services

Other supportive services can include, financial aid g咆哮(如果资金允许), w研讨会和活动; cap and gown voucher at graduation, UC/CSU application fee waivers, and other other free “in office” services like printing, scantrons, and school supplies!
